Don't let anyone think less of you because you are young. Be an example to all believers in what you say, in the way you live, in your love, your faith, and your purity. -1 Timothy 4:12

Looks Aren't Everything..

Why are you living in luxurious houses while mine lies in ruins?
-Haggai 1:4-

Why do people rely on looks to get them through school or life?
Why do people always try to have the expensive things?
Why do people want to compete with others about who has the coolest things?
Why..

Looking outside when I'm sitting in the backseat, I always seem to notice big churches or HUGE houses. There are many reasons why the churches could be so big...maybe a lot of people, or needed more space. However there are some reasons that aren't for Christ. Like..to stand out, be seen, or for publicity.

I don't understand why people think they are so much better than people who don't have the things they do. I notice at school and around our small town how they're many "cliques" that exclude the people who don't have as luxurious things.

-I got most of this stuff from Haggai 1.-

Missionate!

Spring is just now rolling around, but I'm ready for summer! This summer, I'm going on my very first mission trip to Arizona. I'm super excited about it. I feel like this is what God has called me to do. He has a plan for my life and I'm pretty sure this is it.

Spending about 2 weeks in Arizona should be fun. However, what makes it even better is going out there being a witness and the person God that has called me to be. Not only is the few of area where the Indian Reservation is going to be great, but getting to see all the Navajos wanting to learn about Jesus and wanting to get closer to Him.

The Bible says that when Jesus comes back, we will be living in the days of Noah. If we are in the days of Noah right now, we HAVE to spread the word of God. I've been looking forward to this trip for 3 years, now I finally get to go!

What He Sees..

Don't be concerned about the outward beauty of fancy hairstyles, expensive jewelry, or beautiful clothes. You should clothe yourselves instead with the beauty that comes from within, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is so precious to God.        1 Peter 3: 3-4

Yes, we all think Miss Me jeans are cute and make you look even better, but that is just what the world wants to do. It wants you to think that beautiful is classified as what a guy thinks you look like or what people consider your looks as, it is the beauty from within your heart that God looks at.

I know that I would so much rather be known as a girl who is a true woman of God rather than some popular girl or the girl that wears the best clothing. Being able to go without make-up, or without designer clothes and just wearing jeans and a t-shirt, without caring what other people think is something that I'm not afraid to do. God gave and blessed me with my beauty on the inside and on the outside.

Just like a dragon fruit...it isn't all that beautiful on the outside, but once you take a bite out of the middle, you are amazed. Who cares if the world cries out ugly?! What honestly matters is what the Lord sees in you.

This is me..

My life hasn't been perfect, nor has it been terrible. I've had some sad times but also some times of joy. My younger brother passed away from cancer 6 years ago. He was my best friend, but I know I will see him very soon. He has inspired me to do many thing with my life. If it wasnt for him, I wouldn't be the girl I am today.

He battled for his life for 3 years and I know that was tough. Not only was it tough for him, it was tough on my family and I also.

Going through this stage in life, when your friends bail on you and make fun of you is harder than most people think. Having maybe two or three friends is probably best for me. Taylor and Ethyn, they are two amazing guys of God that are here, not to bring me down, but to lift me up. Many people have walked into my life, and walked right out a couple days later. But these two...they will be here forever. I love you Taylor and Ethyn!

As blog post number one, I think it turned out pretty well!
